Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain veneers are ultra-thin shells of ceramic material, which are bonded to the
front of teeth. This procedure requires little or no anesthesia, and can be the ideal
choice for improving the appearance of the front teeth. Porcelain veneers are placed
to mask discolorations, to brighten teeth, and to improve a smile. Highly resistant
to permanent staining from coffee, tea, or even cigarette smoking, the wafer-thin
porcelain veneers can achieve a tenacious bond to the tooth, resulting in an
esthetically pleasing naturalness that is unsurpassed by other restorative options.
Crowns and Bridges
A crown is used to cover a tooth and bring it back to its
normal shape and size, strengthening and improving the
appearance of a tooth. Crowns are placed when a tooth is
generally broken down and fillings won't solve the problem. If
a tooth is cracked, a crown holds the tooth together to seal
the cracks so the damage doesn't get worse. Crowns are also
used to support a large filling when there isn't enough of the
tooth remaining.

Bonding
Bonding is a procedure where Dr. Alexander will use a composite resin to restore decayed teeth
or to cosmetically repair stained, worn, or chipped teeth. When bonding is done to your anterior (front)
teeth, a thin plastic material is placed over the front of the tooth and then a high-intensity light
is applied to the material to harden the plastic, and finally the tooth is polished to finish the
procedure. Bonding typically lasts for seven to eleven years.

Restorations
Restorations are also referred to as fillings and they are
utilized to stop tooth decay from getting worse.
Tooth decay results when plaque bacteria in the mouth use
sugar and starch to break down tooth enamel and cause cavities
in the teeth. Such cavities can be painful and, if left
untreated, can result in a myriad of health problems including
infection, abscess, and tooth loss. Dr. Alexander restores these
cavities using composite resins. Composite fillings are
tooth colored fillings that are very durable, and are made to match the color of your natural tooth.

TMJ Dysfunction
TMJ actually stands for temporomandibular joint, which is the name of the joint located in the front of the ear. Many people suffer from temporomandibular disorders and chronic facial pain in or around the ear, tenderness of the jaw, clicking or popping noises when opening the mouth, or even headaches and neck aches. These symptoms could be a sign of a toothache, sinus
infection, or an early stage of periodontal disease. Sometimes the pain is related to the facial muscles and the temporomandibular joint. Treatment options may include stress reducing
exercises, muscle relaxants, and wearing a mouth protector to prevent teeth grinding.
Myofascial Pain
Periodontal (Gum) Therapy
Periodontal Therapy is the a non-surgical treatment that includes a deep cleaning of the gums to remove any hard deposits or infection from beneath the gum.
During this process, the root surfaces are cleaned and deposits of food debris, bacterial
plaque, and infection are removed from the infected pockets. Once the cause of the infection is removed, the area is able to heal. This
procedure is most effective during the early stages of periodontal disease. With good home care and healing time a patient can reduce the amount of periodontal (gum) surgery required.
